Home food in multiplexes

Ranveer Singh takes Deepika Padukone in his arms……. sensual setting………soft music 🍷😍😍🎶🎶
….. they murmur sweet nothings, panting heavily………….. their faces come closer ….. suddenly a strong masala smell fills the air and …. no Deepika doesn’t turn away, but I turn around to see the man seated behind me opening a packed box of chhole bature and licking his fingers.

Disgusted, I walk out and enter the adjacent screen in the multiplex. Ah, this is better. Rajnikanth is in full form. He mouths a long monologue in Tamil, launches into the air, does a triple somersault and starts pummelling half a dozen villains. One particular reverse kick to the face and I can hear the bones breaking …….. wait, wait, it is only my neighbour biting into the bone of his chicken lollipop, chicken bones breaking not that of that poor stuntman.

Clearly at the end of my patience, I peep into the next screen and see that the movie has not yet started. I plonk myself into a seat and the card on screen asks us to stand for the National Anthem, there is a sudden commotion. A family which had spread out a picnic feast in the aisle is agitated at having been asked to skip their dhoklas, jalebis, khakras and theplas and stand up. Hence the cacophony!

I walk up to the multiplex manager and say “ What the hell is happening?” We are strictly abiding by Government regulations, sir, comes the reply. “ Oh really” I say sarcastically. The sarcasm is lost on him, as he says “ We check all the food to ensure that they are not carried in plastic bags or wrapped with plastic sheets”. We are also planning to tie up with Swiggy and they will deliver the choicest food from your favourite restaurants right on your laps.

Scary, but a distinct possibility if the Maharashtra Government’s decision to allow outside food in the multiplexes is implemented.

  1. Ha ha…your sense of humour and timing is perfect…I believe if people find the prices in multiplexes high they should eat there…no one is forcing them to eat.
